Police nab woman for pouring hot water on husband in Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command has nabbed a woman who poured hot water on her husband after they had a disagreement at home.

A woman, identified as Mrs. Godslove Olakada, originally from Akwa Ibom but married and currently residing in Agbonchia town in the Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, was arrested on Saturday, October 14, by members of the local Nchia Vigilante. She was subsequently handed over to the Eleme Police Division.

The issue began when she requested her husband to provide N15,000 as part of the Host Community dividends. When her husband declined, she allegedly scalded his face with hot water and took possession of his Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card.

Mrs. Olakada, who, along with her husband Ejire Olakada, is the parent of two daughters, was discovered concealed in the ceiling of their residence.

Police spokesperson SP Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the incident in a brief WhatsApp message, saying that the investigation is ongoing.
