Police raid criminals hideouts, apprehend 26, rescue victims in Lagos

Police officers in Lagos State from the police command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) searched the hideouts of criminals in Ojota and detained 26 individuals at the MKO Garden.

In a message published on its official X handle @rrsLagos767 on Saturday, RRS verified the arrest.

It said that at 11:38 p.m. on Thursday, the suspects were taken into custody.

“The operatives of RRS combing Olusosun, Ojota, uncompleted buildings in Otedola Bridge and Kurata, all notorious for being criminals’ dens, arrested 26 suspects at MKO Garden, Ojota.

“Two robbery victims were rescued.

“The arrest is sequel to the directive of the Commissioner of Police Adegoke Fayoade to Commander of RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, to step up surveillance and arrest criminals in some black spots within the metropolis, ” RRS said.

It said that 16 suspects were released to be with their families following a rigorous screening by Egbeyemi, and 10 suspects will face legal charges.

RRS claims that Egbeyemi promised the squad would continue to monitor.
