Security operatives nab suspected Cable thief in Katsina

The state police command, in partnership with vigilante members, detained Urwatu Habibu alias Dandamaso, a 20-year-old from Kofar Guga Quarters in Katsina metropolis.

Habibu, a suspected notorious thief and vandal of armoured wires, was apprehended on April 4, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.

Nemesis apprehended the culprit and arrested him with a big quantity of aluminium cables believed to have been stolen near the Katsina Ring Road.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Katsina police spokesman Abubakar Aliyu stated that when questioned, the suspect was unable to provide a satisfactory description of how he obtained the exhibit.

During the investigation, the suspect confessed to committing the offence and mentioned one Abubakar Kabir, alias Abu Tirai, m, now at large, as his conspirator.

He confessed to having previously stolen aluminum cable from the same place and disposed of it through their receiver (name withheld) who is now at large.

“Efforts are made to arrest the fleeing suspects as the investigation proceeds,” he said.
