The Senate has summoned the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, as well as the ministers of Health and the FCT, Ali Pate and Nyesom Wike, in connection with Ms Greatness Olorunfemi’s death at the Maitama General Hospital on Tuesday.
Greatness Olorunfemi fell victim to ‘one chance’ criminals. They stabbed her and tossed her out of the car she was riding in on the Maitama/Kubwa Highway.
Good Samaritans transported her to Maitama General Hospital, but the clinic refused to treat her because she did not provide a police report.
Disturbed by the sad development, the Senate through a motion sponsored by Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, is instructing its committees on health and police to carry out a thorough investigation on Olorunfemi’s death and report back in two weeks’ time.
The senators are also insisting that Maitama General Hospital be sued for manslaughter.
