Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested two “high-profile collaborators” of Boko Haram in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication covering the Lake Chad region, the suspects were apprehended around 5pm on March 15 at Miringa Market following credible intelligence.

Security sources identified the suspects as Dattiwa Ali and Jidda Abdullahi.

The sources disclosed that troops of the 231 Tank Battalion, working alongside local hunters, carried out the operation based on intelligence indicating that the suspects were coordinating a sleeper cell and storing arms and ammunition for terrorist groups.

“Acting on the intelligence, troops moved swiftly to the location and successfully arrested the suspects,” Makama quoted a source as saying.

Items recovered from the suspects reportedly include two mobile phones, two wristwatches, and a RAM module.

Makama added that the suspects, along with the recovered items, are currently in military custody for further investigation.

On March 19, troops of Operation Hadin Kai also arrested two suspected ISWAP informants in Kaga Local Government Area of the state.
