Why I murdered my neighbor with kitchen knife – Suspect

A 40-year-old woman, Ann Lingwong, confesses to the fatal stabbing of a neighbor during a heated dispute with a kitchen knife.

The tragic event unfolded on Monday at Okoroba Street, Akim Road in Calabar Municipality LGA, Cross River State.

During a press conference held at the Diamond Hill Calabar Police Command Headquarters yesterday, Irene Ugbo, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), revealed significant progress during the stated period.

Ugbo reported the apprehension of 15 suspects involved in various crimes such as kidnapping, illegal firearms trade and production, piracy, murder, theft, and other offenses.

She mentioned that among the apprehended individuals, one notable figure was a notorious kidnapper known for spreading fear in Akpabuyo and the surrounding areas.

Irene Ugbo also revealed that Daniel Eshiet was a member of the gang responsible for the September abduction of a Lafarge employee, during which they demanded and received a substantial ransom for his release.

Furthermore, she disclosed that another arrest was made, this time involving Mrs. Ann Lingwong, who had fatally stabbed her neighbor and attempted to flee the scene.

”Ann stabbed her neighbour with a kitchen knife during an argument; these 15 persons will soon be charged to court once we conclude our investigations.”

“We also apprehended a Point of Sale thief , he specializes in robbing POS operators, he came in all the way from Bayelsa state before men of Anti Cultism and Kidnapping Squad apprehended him,” she said.

Furthermore, Ugbo encouraged community leaders and political figures to avoid harboring resentment and refrain from taking matters into their own hands, instead advocating for legal remedies.
