As part of activities to mark his first year in office, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on Tuesday flagged-off three multi-billion projects in the southern Senatorial District area of the state.

The flag off of the projects included the N15billion International Industrial Park in Omotosho, Ore in Odigbo Local Government Area, the construction of fly-over across Benin-Lagos express road at Ore, and the construction of an 18.1-kilometre Bye Pass road from Okitipupa to Igbokoda.

He said his administration is able to achieve the feat following the signing of Memorandum of Understanding with HESSMAC Nigeria Limited for the Development, operation and management of the park.

The governor said the industrial park, which covers a land area of 1000 hectares, will generate 15000 direct employment and other auxiliary services from 400 industries that will spring up in the park.

“An industrial park of this magnitude is typically accompanied by a number of technical and infrastructural facilities such hotels and guest houses, textiles and apparels, telecommunications, furniture, garment, building materials, plastic products, gas pipeline and distribution among others” he said.

At the flag-off of 18.1kilometres bye-pass road from Okitipupa to Igbokoda, Akeredolu said if the project is completed, it would eliminate the time wasted by commuters going to Igbokoda and beyond, who have hitherto been made to take the long and arduous journey through Okitipupa city centre.

The governor also commissioned roads at the State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa.
