Sokoto Targets 1m Children In Anti-Measles Campaign

Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, launched the 2017 Measles Vaccination Campaign yesterday at Gwadabawa local government area of the state. The campaign is targeted at reaching 1million children across the state.

In his remark during the ceremony to kick start the campaign, Governor Tambuwal said that arrangementshave been concluded for a successful exercise, the state government and development partners have committed huge resources to eradicate measles and other killer diseases from the state.
The vaccines will be administered in two phases; 12 local government areas will be covered in the first phase and the other 11 local government areas will be covered in the second phase.

The state commissioner of Health, Dr. Balarabe Kakale also stated that 1500 teams have been set up to ensure that all eligible children gets vaccinated.
