Amada Firdausa Finally Called To Bar In Hijab By Nigerian Law School

Firdausa Amausa, the young female lawyer from the University of Ilorin who was disallowed to perform the Call to Bar ceremony last year by the Nigerian Law school because of her refusal to remove her hijab, has now been formally called to Bar with her hijab on.

She was called to Bar today, Tuesday, July 10th alongside some other lawyers in Abuja.

Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) had taken over the young lawyer’s case after she was turned down by authorities of the Law School for her refusal to remove her hijab during the Call to Bar honour last year.

Amasa Firdaus had insisted on wearing her wig on top of her Hijab and the Law school had insisted she removed it.
