The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new online service that allows candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions through the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to verify and upload their O’Level results without visiting Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
The service, which currently covers results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), is aimed at reducing candidates’ reliance on CBT centres, particularly during periods of heavy patronage.
Under the new system, JAMB will electronically verify candidates’ results directly with the relevant examination bodies before they are uploaded to their profiles.
In a statement issued on Monday by its Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Board said the initiative was introduced to make the process quicker, easier and more secure while minimising errors associated with manual uploads.
JAMB added that the system would help tackle issues such as the submission of fraudulent or unverified results, misplaced certificates and incorrect entry of subjects and grades.
How to verify your O’Level result
Candidates must first obtain a Result Verification Code through the designated result verification portal.
To start the process, candidates are required to:
- Provide their National Identification Number (NIN).
- Select the number of O’Level sittings.
- Choose the relevant examination body or bodies.
- Provide their email address and GSM number.
- Make payment through the available payment gateway.
- Enter their examination number, examination series and examination year.
Once the verification process is completed successfully, JAMB will issue the candidate a Verification Code.
Candidates are then required to send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.
The Board said candidates would receive a notification confirming the verification and subsequent submission of their results.
How to upload the verified result
Candidates with two O’Level sittings are required to log into their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”
They should enter the Verification Code issued to them, after which their two verified results will appear on the platform.
Candidates can then select the relevant subjects and grades they wish to upload.
JAMB stated that candidates must select at least five and no more than nine subjects, ensuring that no subject is selected more than once.
After making their selections, candidates should click “Apply the O’Level Results.”
A notification will be sent to the candidate once the upload has been completed successfully.
The Board said the new service would be particularly beneficial when CBT centres are experiencing long queues, heavy patronage or network-related challenges.
JAMB said the initiative forms part of its ongoing digital transformation programme, aimed at enabling candidates to complete essential admission-related processes remotely while reducing unnecessary visits to CBT centres.
