ICAN PARTNERS MAPOLY ON NEW ACCOUNTING PROGRAMME

National President of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN), Mazi Nnamdi Okwuadigbo FCA on Thursday, paid a courtesy visit to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.

Okwaudigbo said the visit, which was majorly meant to appreciate the Management of the Polytechnic for maintaining standard in training reputable accountants, coincided with the 16th Investiture of the new Executive Members of Abeokuta District of ICAN society.

He announced the introduction of a new special programme named “Mutual Agreement Programme with Tertiary Institutions (MCAPTI)” for National Diploma Students of the Polytechnic to be run alongside the school curricula. The new programme, according to the ICAN will be handled only by ICAN professionals.

The programme as scheduled, he stated will elevate Accounting Students of MAPOLY, who would have fulfilled about 70% of the required papers to become ICAN members. Hence, the students would be exempted of 10 out of 15 papers as against 6 out of 15 courses which were hitherto obtainable in the ICAN professional examination.

Responding, the Polytechnic Rector, expressed a special gratitude to the National President and his team for the honour done the Polytechnic.

He stated that, MAPOLY has about 50 ICAN members in its establishment which has been responsible largely for transparency and accountability in running standard operations.

He affirmed the readiness of the Polytechnic to launch the MCAPTI, and to equally work with ICAN in maintaining and building on ICAN standards.

The Rector promised that, the Management will continue to support the Institute towards achieving the desired development for Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta as well as producing world class accountants.
