Nigerian woman emerges VP Academic Affairs at Havard

Enitan Okediji, a researcher from Nigeria, just assumed the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts.

On Monday, the University of York alumnus announced the news on her Twitter account.

Okediji will “represent student voices and issues” to the school’s administration in her capacity as the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

She wrote, “Life really begins at the end of your comfort zone. It’s not usually my forte to put myself out in the arena, but since I came into this space, I’ve realised how essential it is for a person of colour to hold the space for others and ensure their voices fill the room through mine.

“I count it a great honor and a call to service to have been elected as the Vice President, Academic Affairs of Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

“Grateful for the trust and confidence to represent student voices and issues to the HKS Administration.”
