UNILAG finally holds matriculation ceremony after initial postponements
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) on Friday held its matriculation ceremony for students admitted for the 2021/2022 academic session.
The well attended event held at Jelili Omotola multipurpose hall.
This is coming after the initial cancellation of the ceremony by the university management.
According to the elated matriculating students, the ceremony had earlier been cancelled twice.
Meanwhile, students reacted differently to the event. While some expressed their happiness, others were indifferent about the ceremony.

Oluwatosin Akinwale
“I’m actually very grateful because the University of Lagos has cancelled this matriculation twice and this is the third time. I`m very happy happy because I got the admission since 2020 and we are just starting the session. I hope to have my certificate by 2024/2025. I hope to learn and gain more skills aside academics. I also hope to start making money before graduating“.
Nwagwoge Chukwu Samuel
“I’m very very excited. After several postponement and covid19 delay, we finally crossed the bridge. I hope to excel in my academics, build my social life, get very strong network and reach my goals before graduating“.
Lawal Samuel
“I feel happy, I feel good and I hope to graduate with a first class“.
Oluwatimileyin Rebecca
“My feelings are just neutral. I just hope UNILAG wont go on strike. I also hope to graduate with first class“.
