Yabatech appoints acting rector

Uduak Inyang-Udoh has been appointed as the college’s acting rector with effect from Monday, January 30, 2023. This appointment has been approved by the chairman of the governing council at Yaba College of Technology.

Prince Lateef Fagbemi, Chairman of the Governing Council, spoke on behalf of the Council when he stated that the appointment was conditional upon the selection of a qualified Rector.

According to a statement made by Mr. Joe Ejiofor, Deputy Registrar and Head of Public Relations at Yabatech, Inyang-Udoh, a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Quantity Surveying, served as Deputy Rector prior to his promotion (Administration).

It statement read, “Other previous positions held by Inyang-Udoh include Director, Yabatech Consult, Director, Academic Planning, Dean, School of Environmental Studies, and Head, of the Department of Quantity Surveying.

“It should be recalled that the tenure of the incumbent Rector, Engr Obafemi Owoseni Omokungbe ended at midnight on 29th January 2023.

“The Governing Council has made a recommendation for the appointment of a new Rector to the appropriate authority at its meeting held on November 25, 2022. The Governing Council is however yet to receive a response in this regard.”
