Social media commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has announced that ₦78 million of the ₦180 million allegedly stolen from his NGO’s account has been recovered.

The update follows VDM’s earlier claims on Instagram that the account had been hacked and ₦180 million stolen. The allegations initially sparked scepticism from the public, with some questioning their credibility.

On Sunday, VDM shared an update via Instagram, expressing gratitude for the progress and providing details on the ongoing investigation.

“Thanks to everyone who called to check on me. I also want to thank God for the process so far. We’ve been able to recover ₦78m. The suspect mentioned that their accomplice has fled to Ghana, so we’re planning to head there soon,” he said.

The case has drawn significant public attention, though some police authorities have distanced themselves from investigating the matter. Further developments are awaited as the recovery efforts continue.
