2Baba has dismissed widespread rumours suggesting he was arrested in the United Kingdom after a heated altercation with his new wife, Natasha Osawaru.

The speculation surfaced on Thursday, with claims that the music star had been detained by UK authorities.

Gossip blogger Tosin Silverdam intensified the rumours on Instagram, alleging: “Tuface Idibia has allegedly been arrested after a heated argument with his wife. The argument went crazy to extent that Natasha broke a bottle.”

Following this, reports emerged that his much-anticipated UK tour, slated to kick off in London on October 2, had been abruptly cancelled.

However, the ‘African Queen’ crooner addressed the issue in a video shared on Instagram on Friday, clarifying the situation.

He explained that the tour’s delay was not due to any arrest or marital dispute but rather a “medical emergency”.

“First of all, I want to appreciate everybody that came out. We had a medical emergency. It was tough, shey you understand? To the show organizers, and everybody that came out, we go re-book,” 2Baba said in Pidgin English.

He also urged the public to stop spreading baseless stories: “And please, if you know sabi something, make una no talk I beg.”

2Baba and Natasha, a lawmaker from Edo State, arrived in the UK on October 2, the same day the tour was set to commence. The singer had first announced the tour on August 26.

Their romance became public shortly after 2Baba confirmed his separation from his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay Idibia, in January, clarifying that his relationship with Natasha was unrelated to the breakup.

He proposed to Natasha in February, and in April, she gained the family’s blessing after visiting his mother, Rose, who had initially opposed the union. The couple officially tied the knot in July.
