Nollywood actor Abimbola Kazeem, popularly known as Jigan Baba Oja, has denied any involvement in an alleged tribute event said to be organised in honour of late veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
The controversy arose after a flyer announcing an “Artist Variety Night” began circulating online, with the event scheduled for August 29, 2026, at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The flyer described the event as a tribute to the late Alhaji Taiwo Hassan Ogogo and stated that it was being organised by TAMPAN Egba Zone in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The programme is advertised as an entertainment event featuring drama, dance, mimicry and a disc jockey, alongside an August birthday celebration.
The flyer also includes several admission categories, with options for regular and VIP tickets, as well as table reservations.
However, Jigan Baba Oja has publicly denied any association with the event or the controversy surrounding its organisation.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page, the actor said he had “no involvement in the matter currently trending,” stressing that he did not support and would never be part of such actions.
“I do not support, nor will I ever be part of such actions for any reason. I am unaware of where this is coming from,” he stated.
Jigan Baba Oja said he had built his name and brand on respect and integrity, stressing that he does not involve himself in trends or controversies simply to stay relevant.
He urged his fans, family members and well-wishers to ignore any claims associating him with the event.
