Actress and film producer Fathia Williams has been thrown into mourning following the death of her mother, Mrs. Gloria Uzoamaka Williams, who passed away on February 7 — just a day before the actress celebrated her 55th birthday.
According to reports, the family kept the sad news from the actress until after the birthday celebration had taken place.
A video that surfaced on social media on Saturday showed the emotional moment the actress broke down in tears during the burial ceremony held at Ebony Vaults, Ikoyi Cemetery in Lagos.
Several friends and colleagues from the entertainment industry, including Iyabo Ojo, Mercy Aigbe, and Saidi Balogun, were present at the ceremony to show their support and comfort the grieving actress.
In a tribute, Balogun described the late Mrs. Williams as the actress’ “cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend and gist partner.”
Since the news of the death became public, Fathia Williams has continued to receive an outpouring of sympathy and condolences from fellow actors, colleagues, and fans.
