Popular Nigerian actor and self-ordained pastor, Yul Edochie is facing heavy criticism after his first prophecy about the outcome of the AFCON finals between Nigeria and Ivory Coast turned out to be false.

NewsClick Nigeria reports that the highly anticipated match, held yesterday, ended with Ivory Coast securing victory over Nigeria with a score of two goals to one.

Yul Edochie had boldly predicted that Nigeria would emerge victorious without the match going into a penalty shootout.

In a statement prior to the game, he confidently proclaimed, “Today’s game will not get to penalty shootout. Nigeria will defeat Ivory Coast comfortably.”

The actor’s false prophecy sparked a wave of criticism, with many questioning his credibility as a pastor.

Social media were flooded with comments berating Yul Edochie for the inaccurate prediction, and memes mocking his failed prophecy quickly circulated online.
