Guinness World Records has confirmed that a concert featuring Saheed Osupa, Rybeena, KS1 Malaika, T.I Blaze and 81 other performers established a new record for the largest orchestra to perform Afrobeats.
The record was set during Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience, held on 16 December 2025 at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos. Guinness verified that 85 musicians performed together under the direction of a conductor, supported by a lead vocalist, a choir, dancers and carefully synchronised orchestral arrangements.
The organisers announced the achievement on their Instagram page on Monday, stating that the performance had been formally assessed and validated by Guinness World Records.
“Glad to announce that Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience has been officially reviewed, verified, and confirmed by Guinness World Records for the Largest Orchestra for an Afrobeats Concert.
“With unforgettable performances from T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee, Dwillsharmony and Fuji legends KS1 Malaika and King Saheed Osupa; the night became a powerful fusion of Afrobeats, Fuji, and orchestral brilliance.
“We didn’t just stage a concert. We rewrote the record books. Culture. Precision. History,” the statement read.
Details published on the Guinness World Records website show that the feat was accomplished by Dapper Music and its artistes, with 85 musicians performing simultaneously during the concert on December 16, 2025.
According to the record body, the performance took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos and involved a coordinated orchestral presentation built around an Afrobeats composition.
“The largest orchestra for an Afrobeats concert is 85 and was achieved by Dapper Live & Artists (Nigeria) in Lagos, Nigeria, on 16 December 2025,” the organisation stated.
Guinness explained that the attempt included a conductor directing the orchestra alongside a lead singer, an accompanying choir, dancers and numerous musicians performing in unison.
Organisers said the concert demonstrated how Afrobeats can be combined with orchestral arrangements to deliver a large-scale musical production that brings both performers and audiences together.
The event also featured appearances by several rising and established artistes, reflecting the diversity of Nigeria’s modern music industry while blending elements of Fuji and Afrobeats.
Dapper Live & Artists is associated with Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, who is also known for his relationship with celebrity chef and three-time Guinness World Records holder Hilda Baci.
