Alleged theft: Seun Egbegbe appears in court after 20 months in jail

Toyin Abraham’s ex Seun Egbegbe will be making an appearance in court today Monday, November 5, 2018, after spending 20 months in jail over theft allegations.

Egbegbe’s failure to pay a N5M bail fee, has kept him jail for over a year now.

 

Recall that Seun Egbegbe was re-arraigned alongside his accomplice, Oyekan Ayomide at the Federal High Court in Lagos on April 3, 2017, for the third time.

 

The suspects were accused of defrauding some Bureau De Change operators in different operations involving N39,098,100, $90,000 and £12, 550.

 

This is coming on the heels of his previous prosecution before Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinboof the Federal High Court in Lagos on 40 counts. They were re-arraigned following the amendment of the charges by the Police.

The Police re-introduced the names of three other persons as defendants in the case. The defendants include Lawal KareemOlalekan Yusuf, and Muyideen Shoyombo. They were all accused of swindling more than 30 Bureau De Change operators in Lagos of various sums between 2015 and 2017.

Egbegbe, a popular filmmaker and movie marketer was in a romantic relationship with Toyin Abraham. The affair however ended in a controversial manner. Egbegbe’s criminal charges no doubt tainted the image and reputation of the actress.
