The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) organisers have released their second coffee table book ahead of the 20th presentation.
A hard-cover photo book, the coffee table book chronicles the evolution of the esteemed award ceremony over the previous 20 years.
It is a masterfully produced compilation of recollections that showcases the winners of awards and noteworthy events from every AMAA edition since its founding.
Media figures, movie executives, and Anyiam-Osigwe family members gathered at the unveiling event, which took place at the Marriott Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, to commemorate the milestone.
According to Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe, CEO of AMAA, the book is an “iconic” piece that captures the brilliance of African filmmakers and creatives.
“We are not just launching a book but we are celebrating my late sister and founder of AMAA, Peace Marie Ogechi Anyiam-Osigwe, who is no more with us here. The coffee table book has captured all the moments of AMAA in the last 20 years for posterity,” he said.
“The coffee table book showcases Africans brilliance in film as well as diasporans and others for the love of creativity and African film.
“It’s an iconic book that captures memorable times of AMAA and it’s not just a coffee table book but a treasure to hold when African creatives and film practitioners are discussed.”
The book launch, according to Raymond, marks the beginning of the activities scheduled for the award night on November 2.
Guests in attendance included Olayinka Gbajabiamila, Anthony Anih, Charles Otudor, Cornel Udofia, Bond Emeruwa, Bimbo Manuel, Greg Odutayo, and Francis Onwochie,
Kingsley James, Zeb Ejiro, Sunny McDon, Tunde Chado, Angela Lance, Florence Okechukwu, Asiodu Henry, Felix Duke, Queen Blessing Ebigieson, and Bukky Ogunote were also in attendance.
