Nigerian Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, better known as Davido, praises Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo with breaking down boundaries and opening doors for musicians from the continent on a global level.

Kidjo was commended by Davido for her services to the music business and for opening doors for other African musicians.

He said that Angelique Kidjo has done an outstanding job representing the continent internationally throughout the years.

Davido expressed his delight at his recent collaboration with the iconic singer, stating that he has long wanted to work with her.

In a recent interview with CNN’s Inside Africa, Davido said:

“I’ve always been wanting to work with Mama Africa [Angelique Kidjo], that’s what we call her, for a long long time.

“She can perform anywhere and for different crowds. And she has represented us so well, you know, on the global scene. She opened doors for new artists like myself.”

There is a time for everything. A time to Grieve and a time to Heal. A time to Laugh and a time to Dance. A time to Speak & A time for Silence. Thank you to everyone out there for your love and that has held me down. My next album TIMELESS is here, March 31st,” he wrote.

All the love and messages while I was away, the gifts sent, the concerts you all threw! I appreciate it all. Today, I want to remind you all that what is now Timeless, was once new. It’s time for new.
