Popular Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, a.k.a Basketmouth is seeking an end to the bad blood between himself and his colleague, Ayo Makun.
For more than a decade, the two have been at odds over a debt Makun claims Basketmouth owes him.
During an interview with famous media personality Chude Jideonwo in March 2023, Makun stated that Basketmouth had approached him to take his place at a comedy concert earlier in his career.
Following the show, AY claimed that Basketmouth refused to pay him the N30,000 money for the performance, despite the fact that the show’s organisers had already paid the latter.
Reacting to the allegation, Basketmouth said he would rather not respond. He also expressed his desire to never talk to AY again.
“To be honest, I don’t want that guy to ever hear from you,” he said in the viral video.
However, Basketmouth has taken a U-turn to apologise to Makun for his misdoings. In a video shared via his Instagram page on Monday, the comedian said he was genuinely sorry for any hurt he has caused to anyone in the industry.
“To my guy AY, I don’t know if my apology is still valid right now, but if it is, please forgive me for whatever I have done or said in the past that affected you in any way and I want you to know that I have forgiven you for whatever you said or did, knowingly or unknowingly. I just want peace and harmony”, he said.
