Popular Nigerian stand-up comedian Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, is marking his birthday today.
The comedian celebrated the occasion by posting humorous photos on social media alongside a heartfelt message about his journey in both life and his career.
Reflecting on the years, Basketmouth described his experience as a mixture of memorable moments and uncertainty, noting that he has encountered both highs and challenging periods.
He said that despite the twists and turns, God has continued to show him faithfulness and mercy. He also expressed appreciation for the lessons he has learnt, his personal growth and the experiences he understands, as well as those that remain unclear to him.
Basketmouth further acknowledged the importance of the people around him, the love he has discovered and the peace he has long desired.
“The journey has been interesting, sometimes confusing. I’ve experienced great times and some interesting times. But through it all, God has remained faithful and merciful.
I’m grateful for the lessons, the growth, the moments I understand, and even the ones I still don’t.
“I honestly wouldn’t change the journey, because somehow, it brought me exactly where I am today. To the people I’m with, the love I’ve found, and the peace I’ve always longed for. Thank you, Yahweh! Thank you for the man I’ve become and the man I’m still becoming”, he wrote.
