Big Brother issued out the first strikes of Season 9 to four housemates: Handi, Kassia, Shaun, and Wanni.
For talking about nominations and breaking the house rules against conspiracy, the housemates were given strikes.
Big Brother broadcast a video during Monday’s nomination session that showed the housemates debating who shouldn’t be nominated. The first official strikes of the season resulted from this protocol violation.
Sooj’s victory as Head of House, which gave him a weeklong immunity from eviction, preceded Big Brother’s decision.
In addition to the strikes, Big Brother announced that the housemates would face further punishments, though the specifics of these consequences remain undisclosed.
A new rule was also introduced, banning housemates from soliciting votes from viewers, in an effort to prevent any further rule violations.
Addressing the housemates, Biggie said in part:
“Handi, Kassia, Shaun, and Wanni, you have been issued a strike for violating Article 16 of the house rules. After a thorough review, you were found guilty of conspiracy.”
In other news, The organisers of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) have announced significant rule changes for the ninth season of the show.
The updates, revealed by host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu during Sunday’s live show, include the removal of both the Custodian Challenge and the Head of House (HOH) ballot, features that were introduced earlier this season.
Initially, the Custodian Challenge was designed to give selected housemates special powers, allowing them to influence evictions while enjoying immunity from being voted out.
