Nigerian artiste manager Ubi Franklin has said that Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) no longer attracts the level of public attention it once commanded.
Franklin shared his view in a recent post on X, following a comment by fellow artiste manager Bizzle Osikoya, who said he had forgotten that the reality TV show was still ongoing.
Osikoya had written, “I actually forgot BBNaija still going on.”
Reacting to the comment, Franklin likened the reality show to an established artiste who still has a loyal fanbase but no longer enjoys the same level of dominance in public conversations.
“Big Brother Naija reminds me of a massive artist who is still successful, still performing and still has fans, but no longer commands the conversation like before,” he said.
“That’s where Big Brother is today. It’s still a big brand, but the cultural relevance isn’t what it used to be.
“Sometimes being successful isn’t enough—you have to go back to the drawing board, re-strategize, reposition and find a way to become relevant again.”
