BBNaija: Solomon Buchi blasts organizers for allowing married couple on show

Nigerian life coach Solomon Buchi voiced his dislike of a video that appeared to show the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) duo “DoubleKay” fighting about a situation in which Fairme, one of the housemates, claimed Kassia had touched his nipple.

The reality show now features a married couple, which worries Buchi since he feels it goes against the idea of marriage’s sacredness.

Buchi’s remarks made clear how much he valued marriage as a holy institution that ought to be treated with decency. He bemoaned the days when the status of married man was equated with intelligence and maturity. But, Buchi claims that this view has fundamentally shifted as a result of married people appearing on reality shows like BBNaija, which he believes encourage unethical behaviour and sexual entanglements.

To quote him:

“Wait, a married couple went on Big Brother Naija? You guys have no respect for marriage. There was a time that people believed one had sense just because they’re married. These days married people are scrambling to get on a reality show that thrives on romantic affairs and immorality.”

Recall that, Former Big Brother Naija housemate Pere Egbi also spoke about the strategy of Season 9 contestants Kassia and Kellyrae, also known as DoubleKay.

The married couple disclosed during their introduction that they intended to use their home as a tactical advantage to conceal their connection.

In response, Pere Egbi voiced worries that this strategy would cause problems in their relationship, especially in the area of trust.

He warned them that their conduct might have repercussions outside the home.

On his X handle, Pere wrote:

“You see that married couple, na dangerous game dem dey play. The kind of trust issues when this their game go generate, na outside dem go feel am when don commot.”
