Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) contestant Nengi Hampson has refuted internet allegations that she was expecting a child fathered by a Nigerian governor.
According to earlier reports, the 27-year-old reality TV actress became the fifth wife of a 65-year-old governor and had a child with him.
Nengi recently vented her annoyance about the rumour on X, saying she should have disregarded it.
However, she claimed that because of the involvement of people she respects, she felt obliged to address it.
The reality star made it clear that neither she nor those close to her would be jeopardised by the allegation.
“As much as I believe social media lies aren’t worth my time, I’ve come to accept that we live in a world where people are quick to spread lies without limits so let me be clear, I’m not pregnant for any Governor,” she wrote.
“I’ve chosen to speak coz this isn’t just an attack on me, it involves people I hold in the highest regard, and I won’t allow a beautiful, personal part of my life to be turned into something ugly.”

Although Nengi confirmed the pregnancy, she chose not to disclose the identity of her partner. Instead, she wished her followers a happy Valentine’s weekend and expressed her desire to “enjoy my pregnancy in peace”.
“While I continue to mind my own business and enjoy my pregnancy in PEACE, I wish y’all Love and a happy Valentine’s weekend,” she added.
