Brazilian Police have disclosed that they prevented a planned bombing at a Lady Gaga concert on Saturday night.

Authorities reported that a suspect is in custody related to the foiled scheme.

The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police stated that unknown individuals were “virtually recruiting participants to carry out attacks” involving improvised explosive devices.

The intended attackers allegedly aimed to achieve fame on social media through the bombing.

Gaga’s concert, part of her Mayhem tour, was held at the well-known Copacabana venue.

The singer announced the event on her Instagram last month, expressing her excitement to return after having to cancel a performance years ago due to an injury.

“It’s a great honor to be asked to sing for Rio — for my whole career the fans in Brazil have been part of the lifeblood of the little monsters,” she wrote.
