Burna Boy becomes first African artiste to sell out London Stadium twice

In a momentous achievement, Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, became the first African musician to sell out the famed London Stadium twice, solidifying his position as a worldwide music phenomenon.

The stadium, which can hold between 60,000 and 80,000 people depending on the occasion, was nearly full with excited spectators ready to see Burna Boy perform.

This incredible accomplishment is a part of his current world tour, which began with the release of his highly regarded album “I Told Them,” which has been creating waves all over the world.

As a Grammy-winning artist and well-known figure in Nigerian Afrobeats, Burna Boy has played a significant role in expanding the genre’s appeal.

His worldwide appeal is demonstrated by his sold-out performances in Paris, Canada, New York, and the Netherlands, and this historic milestone at the London Stadium further cemented his status as a trendsetter in the music industry.

Burna Boy’s popularity is a direct result of his talent, passion, and dedication; it inspires both fans and other musicians.

In a different story, Seun Kuti voiced dissatisfaction with the music industry’s incorrect record crediting practices.

He brought up the fact that Burna Boy had really performed at Coachella in 2012, and that he was mistakenly listed as the first performer at the 2020 edition of the festival.

He also mentioned that before Burna Boy’s nomination for Best World Music Album, his brother Femi Kuti had been nominated for several Grammy awards.

Kuti added that the African award organisers had disregarded his album “Black Times,” which was nominated for Best World Music Album.

Despite his recent Grammy nomination for his contribution to Janelle Monae’s “Age of Pleasure”, Kuti said he was not mentioned among the Nigerian artists nominated for the 66th Grammys.
