Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy ’s concert arranged for the 9th of June at the Johan Cruyff Arena Stadium, in the Netherlands has been cancelled.
The musician made the announcement on Thursday via his Instagram account, saying that the show was called off because the event planners had not fulfilled their end of the bargain.
He said that within 30 days, ticket buyers would receive a refund from the location of purchase.
He wrote,
“We regret to inform you that due to a failure by the event organisers to meet their contracted obligations, Burna Boy’s concert at the stadium on June 9th 2024 has been cancelled.
“All ticket buyers will be refunded from point of purchase within 30 days.
Love you and see you soon [Netherlands and love emojis].”
In a different story, Rema, has hinted that he considers himself on par with Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido are globally recognized as the top Nigerian/Afrobeats artists and are collectively known as the “Big 3.”
Rema is now laying claims to the elite list. In a recent X post, the ‘Calm Down’ crooner asserted that he is now in that league when he wrote:
“No more Big 3 there’s now a Big 4.”
His post sparked a variety of responses, with some agreeing with his assertion, while others argued that despite his streaming and chart successes, he requires years of consistent performance to truly earn such a comparison.
