Grammy-winning musician Damini Ogulu, better known by his stage name Burna Boy, has apologised to bloggers in Nigeria while criticising Western blogs for popular pieces suggesting he lied about his age.
Recently, a few Western bloggers released some images of Burna Boy, questioning his age claim of thirty-two and asserting that he is considerably older.
Burna Boy responded on Instagram, pointing out that the pictures were from a long time ago and apologising to Nigerian blogs for their superior quality compared to Western blogs.
He wrote, “To all you weirdos who depend on @theshaderoom @theshadeborough And other weirdo blogs for your daily news. I shaved my beard in 2021 not now. But it’s good to know that for all the history I’ve been making and records I’ve been setting and breaking, You parasites only care about who might have f*ck, who I’m f*cking, and stupid shit like ‘Burna boy shaved his beard’.
“I gotta apologise to Nigerian blogs now cuz I thought their stupidity was unique, I didn’t know they learned all they know from the West.”
Recall that Burna Boy recently gives explanations on why he doesn’t participate in doing social media giveaways like his peers.
In a live Instagram session with followers, he revealed that, unlike popular belief, he is a prolific charitable worker.
He says that he conducts the majority of his giveaways offline because he thinks that those who are most in need of assistance do not utilise social media.
He made it known that he does giveaways to places that really matter, to people that really need it and most of them are not on the internet.
