Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Damini Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, has officially launched the ‘Burna Boy Football Academy’ in Lagos.
This creative approach aims to help African football improve by providing young footballers with an organised training regimen.
The academy runs three days a week with two-hour training sessions, and it has already attracted notice online.
Junior boys, ages 4 to 15, and senior boys, ages 16 to 21, are the two separate age groups that the project is intended to serve.
There are training facilities at Ikoyi, Surulere, Port Harcourt, and Abuja to serve budding football players from different areas.
Social media users have been captivated by recent films that highlight the academy’s cutting-edge facilities and training sessions.
In the video, young football players can be seen practicing under the supervision of a coach.

Recall that, Nigerian dancehall artist Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking, constructed a mini football stadium in Lagos.
The Alubarika singer built the stunning stadium in the state’s Ebute Metta neighbourhood, where he was raised.
In a video he posted on his official Instagram page, Patoranking revealed the pitch and said he gave it to bring the community together.
The singer claimed that God had blessed him, which is why he made the decision to give back to the area that influenced his formative years.
Sharing the video, Patoranking wrote;
“God blessed Me, I Blessed my People, I built this from a place of love to unite my Community Ebute Metta…First of Many. World Best.”
