Burna Boy’s ‘I Told Them’ top Chart in UK

Burna Boy, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, has made history by becoming the first-ever African artiste to secure a UK Number 1 album with his latest release, “I Told Them.”

The Official Charts Company confirmed on Friday that Burna Boy’s seventh studio album, “I Told Them,” debuted at number 1 on the UK albums chart this week.

The British record chart company presented the “It’s Plenty” vocalist, Burna Boy, with a plaque in commemoration of his record-breaking achievement.

“He told them! @burnaboy makes UK chart HISTORY today as he claims his first Number 1 album,” the company tweeted.

Burna Boy enthusiastically retweeted the tweet with: “Let’s Have It! #ITOLDTHEM    #ITOLDTHEMNUMBER1.”

Burna Boy, the Port Harcourt-born singer, had two previous EPs, Twice As Tall and Love Damini, which both peaked at number 2 on the UK albums chart. However, his latest project, “I Told Them,” finally saw him reach the top of the chart.
