Skit maker Carter Efe and rapper Speed Darlington are heading into the boxing ring for the first time against each other on October 1 in Lagos.
The celebrity boxing contest will be held at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island and is being promoted by Balmoral Group Promotion.
The organisers announced the fight in an Instagram post on Sunday, setting the stage for a fresh celebrity showdown involving two entertainers who have previously participated in boxing events.
Carter Efe has already recorded a victory in the ring, defeating singer Portable on points in May after their highly publicised clash.
Speed Darlington also has a previous boxing experience involving Portable. Their 2025 bout followed a disagreement that started after Darlington invited Portable to perform at an event for N500,000.
Portable turned down the invitation and mocked Darlington for being “poor”, leading to a heated exchange between both entertainers.
Darlington subsequently accused Portable of insulting his mother, while Portable challenged him to settle the matter through a fight.
The pair eventually met in the ring, with Portable dominating the opening round before Darlington failed to return for the second round. The result was recorded as a technical knockout victory for Portable.
With both men having previous celebrity boxing experience, attention will now turn to their October 1 encounter, which will be their first direct showdown in the ring.
The organisers said the bout was put together following popular demand.
