Social media personality Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has been granted N20 million bail by an Ikeja Special Offences Court over an alleged N69.15 million property fraud.
Justice Rahman Oshodi granted the defendant bail with two responsible sureties in the same amount.
Although the prosecution did not oppose the bail application, the judge said the court was required to consider the seriousness of the charges and the severity of the potential punishment before exercising its discretion.
Oshodi also considered the defence’s explanation regarding the whereabouts of the defendant’s international passport.
The judge directed each surety to provide a three-year bank statement or evidence of fixed deposits worth at least N20 million.
He further ordered Blessing CEO and her sureties to undergo screening through the Lagos State Judiciary’s Bail Information Management System.
The Nigerian Immigration Service was also directed to enforce the defendant’s travel restrictions pending the conclusion of the case.
The judge adjourned the matter until October 12 for continuation of trial.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned Blessing CEO on June 9 on a two-count charge of stealing and obtaining money by false pretences. She pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
The EFCC alleged that in March 2025, the defendant obtained N69.15 million from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Ltd. through false pretences.
According to the commission, Blessing CEO allegedly claimed that she would lease a property in Lekki, Lagos, to the company.
The EFCC said the alleged offences contravene Section 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State and Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, 2006.
