Nigerian billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote has accepted an invitation from skit maker Adebayo Ridwan, popularly known as Isbae U, to feature on his show, ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’.

Isbae U extended the invitation on Monday during a visit to the Dangote Refinery in Lagos.

The comedian said many of Dangote’s previous interviews had been conducted on platforms that young Nigerians rarely watch. He argued that younger people were an important audience for the businessman’s ventures.

“Most of the interviews we’ve seen you have been on platforms that my generation don’t watch,” he said.

He added: “…ironically, we are the ones interested in investing in your company, we want to buy this IPO and give it a platform. I am not saying you should sack your media team…”

Isbae U then urged Dangote to appear on his programme, saying: “I really think we should have a man with the biggest refinery on the biggest show on YouTube in the world ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’. So the question is when do you think we can have you on the show sir?”

Responding, Dangote highlighted the importance of engaging younger Nigerians, describing them as the country’s future.

“Honestly, the future that we have is actually you, the youth. We, our own generation, really, we have not really done very well for Nigeria and also for Africa. That’s the truth,” he said.

The businessman stressed the need for older generations to share their experiences with younger people to help them understand Nigeria’s history and development.

“So we need to sit down with some of you and discuss our own experience with you,” he added.

Dangote also observed that many young Nigerians had limited knowledge of some of the country’s former political leaders and historical experiences.

He subsequently accepted Isbae U’s invitation to appear on the show, reiterating the importance of sharing his generation’s experiences with younger Nigerians.
