Nigerian Afrobeat artist Davido recently gave American rapper Kanye West some business advise after he publicly criticised Adidas on social media.

Remember when in 2022, following a slew of antisemitic remarks from the then-billionaire rapper, the brand severed its ties with him? Even after splitting from the celebrity, Adidas has been clearing out its remaining Yeezy stock.

On Monday, Kanye West resorted to Instagram to criticise the company for exploiting his loyal fan base and selling a Yeezy design he never approved.

He stated that Adidas did not pay him any royalties for the sneakers they sold out last year and are still suing him for $250 million, despite producing fake Yeezys and selling them to his fans.

Anybody who loves Ye would not buy these fake Yeezys I never made these colorways I’m not getting paid off of them and Adidas is suing me. “All the new non-approved 350s are corny and everybody knows the 350 been corny.”

He shared a video on Instagram to explain his conflict with Adidas, saying:

Not only are they putting out fake colorways that are non-approved, they’re suing me for $250 million and they’re also not paying me for these shoes that they’re putting out that have my name on it”.

Taking to his his Instagram story, Davido offered him some advice, urging him to work with Puma instead.

“Come to @puma Ye.
