Nigerian music star Davido has announced the release of a new song titled I Know Who I Be, marking his return with fresh solo material after a period of limited releases.

The track, which features Jazzwrld and GL_Ceejay, is scheduled for release on June 26.

Davido, born David Adeleke, is one of Africa’s most successful music exports. He rose to prominence in 2012 with the hit single Dami Duro and later established DMW, a record label that has nurtured several successful artistes.

The singer made the announcement via his X account on Monday, telling fans that “the journey to the throne begins” as he unveiled plans for the upcoming release.

He also revealed that “my next single I Know Who I Be releases June 26th,” while sharing promotional images for the project.

The announcement has sparked excitement among fans, especially after Davido disclosed in May that he would be taking a temporary break from making music.

Prior to this, his last solo release was Be There Still, which dropped in March 2025. More recently, he featured on Nakupenda by TxC.

The forthcoming single arrives shortly after the Afrobeats star performed at the opening concert of the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown series in Los Angeles, further strengthening his global profile.

With a catalogue that includes Omo Baba Olowo, A Good Time, A Better Time and Timeless, Davido remains one of the leading figures in the worldwide Afrobeats movement, and fans will be keen to see what he delivers with I Know Who I Be.
