Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and his wife, Chioma Rowland, have arrived in Miami, United States, ahead of their long-awaited white wedding ceremony.

Back in April, Davido had announced plans for the celebration to take place in August, though he did not reveal the exact date.

On Wednesday, he posted a video to his Instagram story, showing himself and Chioma boarding a private jet adorned with floral décor and a chair labelled “MRS”—a clear nod to the upcoming nuptials. He also shared a location-tagged photo confirming their arrival in Miami.

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, who is Davido’s uncle, has also travelled to the US to attend the wedding. His spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirmed the governor’s trip in a statement issued on Tuesday, in response to criticism from the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) about his absence from the state.

Though the couple have not formally announced the wedding date, multiple sources suggest the ceremony will take place on Saturday.

Davido proposed to Chioma in 2019, but their relationship hit a rough patch in 2021 amid reports linking the singer to another woman.

In October 2022, the couple suffered a devastating loss when their first son, Ifeanyi, drowned at their Lagos residence.

In March 2023, Davido revealed that he and Chioma had legally married, and in October 2023, they welcomed twins in the United States. Their traditional wedding took place in Lagos in June 2024.

Recently, Davido made headlines after claiming that Chioma’s wedding ring was worth the equivalent of “two or three Rolls-Royce cars.”
