Davido has publicly accused singer Tosin Bee, wrongly alleging that he is the son of the lawyer representing Sophia Momodu in the custody battle over their daughter, Imade Adeleke.

The controversy erupted shortly after the Afrobeats star opened up about what occurred between him and Sophia’s lawyer during a recent court session.

On Friday, Davido announced that he was stepping back from the custody case, explaining that he never intended to pursue full custody of Imade but only sought a co-parenting arrangement.

The court matter began in 2024 when Davido filed a suit at the Lagos high court, seeking “unrestricted access” to his daughter. In reply, Sophia maintained that she had not at any point denied him access to Imade.

In his Friday statement, Davido spoke about the public perception of the case. Despite expressing confidence in his legal standing, he said the hearing became emotionally challenging when the opposing lawyer, according to him, delivered a “low blow”.

“I’ve decided to drop the case because when I was spanking that lawyer in the courtroom… she would get so frustrated… until she brought out her last card — my deceased son. That’s a no no! Lowest blow!” he wrote.

In another post, Davido shared several images of Tosin Bee, claiming he was the lawyer’s son, and questioned her professional ability.

“And she has a son… Tosin you will live long amen with the rubbish u Dey sing … so ur son nah musician Bella Chukwu u know even get sense .. make we help am. Useless pole,” he wrote.

“I disgraced you in the courtroom. I was teaching you your work you couldn’t even take it and then went on to mention My Son.

“Like I said in the courtroom I pray you never go through what me and my wife have gone through ever .. and u were still smiling smirking .. u are a wicked human being. Ur the worst lawyer ever I beat you in court! You are not learned.”

Tosin Bee reacted to the claims, stating clearly that he has no ties to the lawyer handling the case. He explained that his mother died eight years ago and described the incident as mistaken identity.

“Hello Mr David,I don’t know anything about the post you made, as a matter of fact, my mum went to be with the Lord 8 years ago. I guess this is a case of mistaken identity,” he wrote on Instagram.

“So sorry you had to deal with this…but my prayers are with you. Love you brother.”
