The renowned Afrobeats artist, Davido has responded to reports that he received $10 million to play at a wedding in India.
Davido landed in the South Asian country on Friday to serenade guests at Alkesh Thavrani and his partner Sanya’s wedding ceremony in Udaipur.
The musician also shared video clips of his triumphant arrival in India and the lavish welcoming ceremony held in his honor.
However, Tunde Ednut, a celebrity blogger, said on Instagram that Davido was paid $10 million to perform at the wedding.
In response, Davido used his Instagram story to playfully ask the groom for the remainder of his cash.
“@alkeshthavrani where is my balance 😂😂😂,” he wrote.
In a follow-up post, the award-winning singer wrote: “Received. 2025 go hear am! I need Indian passport”.
The Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star however did not categorically state if he was paid $10 million or not.
