Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star Davido has announced that he will perform at the 2026 Calabar Carnival and Festival in Cross River State on December 29.
The singer confirmed his appearance in a post on X on Wednesday, revealing the date and venue for his performance.
“Calabar Carnival and Festival. We have a date: 29th December, 2026. Main bowl U.J. Esuene Stadium. See you there,” he wrote.
The announcement comes ahead of the annual festival, which draws visitors to Calabar for cultural displays, musical performances and carnival activities during the festive season.
The 2026 edition is themed ‘Rethinking Our Collective Destiny’, with organisers highlighting its role in promoting cultural preservation, tourism and creative enterprise.
According to the festival’s official schedule, activities will take place throughout December, featuring cultural exhibitions, musical performances and the carnival parade.
The grand parade and band competition are scheduled for December 28, while the programme for December 29 includes the bikers carnival and Insomnia Night at U.J. Esuene Stadium.
In September, Davido announced a three-night residency at the remodelled National Theatre in Lagos.
He said he would headline ‘Oriadé: The Residency’ on December 17, 18 and 19, 2026.
Established in 2004, the Calabar Carnival was introduced as part of efforts to position Cross River State as a destination for tourism and cultural events.
