The Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Wizkid, has spoken out on the recent physical altercation involving Burna Boy and DJ Tunez.

The incident occurred on Monday at Obi’s House, a popular weekly Afrobeats event in Lagos, where an argument between Burna Boy and DJ Tunez reportedly escalated into a fight, with members of Burna Boy’s team allegedly joining before bystanders intervened.

Although the exact cause of the clash remains unclear, online speculation suggests it may be linked to longstanding industry rivalries, particularly DJ Tunez’s close ties with Wizkid, who is often compared with Burna Boy by fans.

Reacting on X, Wizkid defended his official DJ and suggested Burna Boy was a “coward” for allegedly confronting Tunez with the support of several others. He also mocked the ‘City Boy’ singer by referring to him as “Diddy’s babe,” in reference to Burna Boy’s friendship with rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

“P***y nigga, jump a DJ with 10 men, carry Diddy towel Dey dance. I never see fool like this Diddy babe for my life,” he wrote.

Earlier, DJ Tunez, also known as Ogbafia, had criticised Burna Boy, calling him a “coward” and posting “All Signs of Weakness” — a play on Burna Boy’s album title ‘No Sign of Weakness’.

Burna Boy later responded with a mocking video in which he danced to ‘Money Constant’ by DJ Tunez featuring Wizkid, DJ Maphorisa, and Mavo. While singing, he altered the lyric “Ogbafia dey my side” to “Ogbafia dey for ground,” before dramatically falling, a gesture widely interpreted as a jab at DJ Tunez.

The dispute intensified on Tuesday after the Nigerian DJ Association announced a ban on Burna Boy’s music across its members’ playlists pending further investigation.
