Prominent disc jockey and the daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, commonly known as DJ Cuppy has become the first Nigerian to host the opening session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Cuppy served as moderator for the UNGA’s Youth Action Day in 2024, which had as its topic “The Summit of the Future – Youth Actions Day.”

Cuppy concluded her keynote speech with a musical performance.

Her meeting grew to be the biggest youth event ever held at UN Headquarters.

Other personalities at the session include the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs and the president of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves. Reacting hours ago on her Instagram story, Cuppy expressed her excitement writing:

“PINCH ME.

Can’t believe I had the chance to open up the Summit of the Future AND moderate at the @unitednations

General Assembly!

EVEN though I believe preparation meets opportunity, I KNOW it was really God speaking through me!.”
