Idogo community will be upbeat on April 3, as seven gospel artistes, including veteran gospel musician, Pastor Joseph Adelakun, popularly known as Ayewa; Evangelist, Bukola Akinade (aka Senwele Jesu; Esther Igbekele; Ayan Jesu; Aduke Gold; Yinka Ayorinde and Decross Gospel Choir, thrill dignitaries and fans of the music legend, evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, as part of the activities to mark his 77th birthday, Tribuneonline report.
The three-in-one event, featuring the commissioning of the Ilaro/Idogo, Road Yewa South Local Government, in honour of the patriarch; unveiling of the new Civil Defense office in Igodo reconstructed by the music icon and, a seven-hour praise altar by seven gospel ministers, will hold at the Idogo town hall ground.
R gathered that the commissioning of the road in honour of the Chief Commander as Obey-Fabiyi is fondly called by his fans, will be anchored by the Olularo of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle and the Onidogo of Idogoland, Oba Saheed Olubiyi alongside other dignitaries.
Speaking with R, Obey said he was grateful to God for all his achievments, just as he noted that he considered the naming of the road after him as a great honour.
“I thank the authorities of the Yewa Local Government for this honour. I see it as a rare opportunity and I am grateful to God and everyone that made this possible. I also thank the Onidogo of Idogoland, Oba Saheed Olubiyi; HRM Olularo of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle and the good people of the town.
“On the building of the Civil Defense office, I see it as my contribution to my people. It is a way of contributing my quota to the progress of the Idogo community.
The performance of the seven gospel ministers is unique for me. It is a distinctive way to appreciate God for keeping me alive for seven decades and seven days. I don’t have any other thing to give to Him except thanks,” he added.
