Eedris Abdulkareem, controversial hip-hop artiste, has unleashed a scathing, profanity-laced attack on singers who refer to themselves as the next ‘Fela’.
The veteran’s grudge with these artistes is that they sing about women on Afrobeats Instrumentals which doesn’t represent what Fela was known for.
Eedris made this known as a guest on Jordan FM’s entertainment show.
Lampooning artistes who make this bold claim, Eedris said: “Anyone who calls himself the next Fela is crazy. What kind of music do you play that makes you the next Fela?
“You are using Afrobeat to speak about women , when you are supposed to talk about reality so you can never be Fela. The only Fela that I know is Seun Kuti and Eedris Abdulkareem”.
Recall that Eedris months back condemned Mr Eazi and Davido. He stated that Mr Eazi lacks intelligence and that he’s unwise.
He said: “Number one, you sound like Ghanaians, that’s why you are accepted, you are not original. But because it is an African music, you will be accepted. Who are you to say a thing like that? That’s pride.”
