Eight things to know about late actor Amaechi Muonagor

The death of famous Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor on Sunday has left many Nigerians in sadness. The actor suffered from diabetes, a stroke, and kidney problems before passing away at the age of 61.

Below are eight things to know about the late actor.

  1. Actor Amaechi Muonagor was born in 1962 at Obosi, a village in Idemili North Area of Anambra State.
  2. Muonagor pursued his education at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), where he majored in economics and graduated in 1987 after attending St. Mary’s Primary School, Obosi, and Oraifite Grammar School.
  3. Muonagor received a nomination for Best Actor at the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
  4. He left his job a few years later for an acting role in his first movie as Akunatakasi in Taboo 1, a Nigerian movie.
  5. Amaechi began her career in the Nigerian film business in 1998, appearing in several films such as Taboo 1 (1989), Aki and Pawpaw, Karishika (1998), Aki na Ukwa (2002), and Igodo (1999).
  6. Following his youth service, Amaechi began employment with the News Agency of Nigeria in 1989.
  7. He passed away on March 24, 2024, following a protracted fight with kidney disease.
  8. The late actor was married to Hope Chikodi Muonagor, and the couple had four children.
