“Every seed counts,” Celestial Church Parish in Agege seeks Davido’s support for roofing project

The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Igi Oluwagbin Parish in the Oko Oba area of Agege, Lagos, has appealed to Afrobeats superstar Davido for financial assistance to complete its roofless church building.

In a video shared on their official X page, the church leadership tagged the ‘Timeless’ hitmaker and requested that he “sow a seed” into the congregation.

The footage shows members seeking shelter beneath the unfinished structure, while several altar priests kneel in prayer as rain pours down on them.

The building appears to be at the lintel stage, with all sides erected but the roof completely open. Although tents were set up as makeshift covers, they proved insufficient to shield worshippers from the downpour.

“Hi David, @davido we humbly seek your financial support to cover our church,” the post reads.

“CCC IGI OLUWAGBIN PARISH. Account No: 1026784448. Bank: UBA.

“Every seed counts. A Kindly RETWEET.”

The ‘Assurance’ hitmaker, who has over the years cultivated a reputation for generosity toward people, has not responded to the post.

The church’s request comes a few days after Davido pledged N15 million to a devoted fan named Abazz, who had publicly professed his loyalty to the singer on social media.

The Celestial Church of Christ, founded on September 29, 1947, by Samuel Bilehou Joseph Oshoffa, is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading white garment churches.
